INTRODUCTION OF OUR SECOND VICE DISTRICT GOVERNOR

Dr. Shashikanth Kanike, PMJF, is a distinguished medical professional and an exemplary leader known for his dedicated service in both the medical and social spheres. Born on 24th June in Solapur, Maharashtra, he completed his schooling there before pursuing his MBBS degree from BLDEA’s Medical College, Bijapur, Karnataka.

Professionally, Dr. Shashikanth runs his own hospital at Mahabubnagar and has been serving in a government position since 2001. His leadership skills and commitment to the medical fraternity are reflected through his long-standing association with professional bodies. He served as the Secretary of IMA Palamoor for three consecutive years, and as the President of the erstwhile Mahabubnagar District Government Doctors Association for three years – a position he continues to hold at present. He has also held various roles in the Government Doctors Association since its inception, including two terms as Treasurer, three terms as Secretary, and three terms as President.

In the Lions International, Dr. Shashikanth has an illustrious record of service and leadership. He has successfully completed tenures as Club President, Zone Chairperson, Region Chairperson, and has held various Inner Cabinet Positions. His outstanding commitment to humanitarian causes has earned him the 2 Diamond Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (PMJF) recognition.

His remarkable contributions have been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Governor’s Medal/ Certificate (three times), and the International President’s Appreciation Certificate (twice), and the International President’s Medal.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in the medical profession, Dr. Shashikanth is the son of Dr. Aravind, one of the senior-most physicians at Mahabubnagar, Telangana. He has a brother and a sister, both well-accomplished in their respective fields.

He is married to Dr. Savitha S, and together they are blessed with two daughters and a son. His elder daughter has completed her Post-Graduation in Gynecology, the younger daughter is in her 3rd year of MBBS, and his son is currently studying in 10th standard.
